Josh Gardner | Director of Discipleship and Development

Our goal is to plant churches in one of the United States' least-reached populations. Salt Lake City, Utah, has a Christian population of only 2%. Our hope is to partner with God in what He is already doing in sharing the Gospel, making disciples, and planting more churches. Please prayerfully consider partnering with us financially as we seek for God’s Kingdom come, here in Utah.

  • About us

My wife, Rachel, and I are both originally from Texas and have been married for a little over eight years. Almost six years ago, Rachel and I felt a call to move from Texas to Utah for me to take a position as Minister to Students at Flourishing Grace Church in Bountiful, Utah. In the last five-plus years, God has grown our love for the people of Utah and has grown our desire to see God build His Kingdom in Utah.

Now, I have an opportunity to help lead King's Cross Church in discipleship, as well as be equipped to plant a church in the future in Northern Utah.

  • Discipleship and Church Planting

I have taken a position at King's Cross Church in Farmington, Utah, as the Director of Discipleship and Development. In this role, I will be helping the people of Kings Cross to both be and make disciples across Davis County. Jesus calls us not to be churchgoers, good moral people, or even people who know a lot about Him, but to be His disciples and then go to the ends of the earth to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20). Helping people to know and love Jesus, become disciples and make disciples is something that God has absolutely wired me to love. To be a Christian is to be a Disciple and I so strongly desire to help others be and make disciples as well.

Ever since I felt called to vocational ministry over 10 years ago, I have had a heart for church planting and church revitalization. This position will also give me an opportunity to be equipped to plant churches in the future in Utah. God does not save us as individual persons but as a people, His Bride. When He saves us, He brings us into this new family that is centered on Jesus, motivated by grace, activated by prayer, shaped by Scripture, renewed as community, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and sent on mission. My desire is to see God cause a revival through His Church and through Church planting in Utah! We need God to do this, so I ask, would you pray with us to that end?

Please also consider joining our prayer team to receive updates about what God is doing in Davis County.

  • Partner with us Financially

The need for discipleship and church planting in Utah is great, but churches in Utah do not have the resources on their own to fill these needs. Therefore, I will be support-raising a majority of my salary. I ask that you would prayerfully consider partnering with us financially as we pursue making disciples and planting churches in Northern Utah. If you would like to know more details about how much I have left to raise, please email me, and I would love to set up an in-person or phone meeting with you to share those details with you.
