Sunday Morning

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20–21.

Sunday Morning at 10:00 AM at Ascent Academy in Farmington

At King’s Cross church we are centered on Jesus and motivated by grace! We know that the highest degree of human flourishing happens in the closest proximity to Jesus, so it is our goal to create safe places to encounter Jesus.

As a church we are shaped by scripture and hold to the historic teachings found in the Bible and we are place that is safe for anyone with doubts, questions, criticism, hurts and fears. For those who already know Jesus, we want to walk with you as you grow in relationship and partnership with him.

For those who are just curious about Jesus, we want to walk with you in love and help you to encounter the Jesus who loves you so much he gave up his life for you!

The order of our gatherings are shaped by the story of Scripture.

  • We begin every gathering with a reading from scripture that atunes our hearts to the glory of God. Then we sing songs of praise —remembering and re-orienting around our good Creator God. We stand in awe of His good creation. All life flows from God!

  • After singing of the greatness of God it is easy for us to become aware of how far we have fallen short of it. Each week we practice the discipline of confessing our rebellion against God. We pause to recognize our sin and its ramifications on all of God’s creation.

  • The story does not end with rebellion and confession. Therefore, we move to reading scripture and singing a song that reminds us that our salvation is assured by the work that Jesus did. We remember how God, throughout his story has promised to rescue and redeem all of his creation, in Jesus, regardless of how broken it has become.

  • Since we have been reconciled to God through Christ, we pause each Sunday morning and pray for the reconciliation of those far from Jesus.

Because Jesus freely gave himself as a sacrifice for us, we have been empowered to freely give. Worship through giving is reserved for those who call King’s Cross home and who have come prepared to worship in that way. For those just checking things out, let this time pass you by.

Since we have been welcomed into the family of God through Jesus we take a couple minutes to welcome those around us.

Since it is through hearing trusting the message of Jesus that we have become redeemed, we share message of Jesus every Sunday through teaching Scripture.

  • In Acts 2 Jesus establishes his church. And has he promised in Matthew 16 the gates of Hell will not prevail against it—and there has never been a time since then when Jesus’ church wasn’t.

Each week, after singing the gospel over one another, confessing sin, being assured of our salvation, and sitting under the teaching of God’s word we take a few moments to respond as a church.

During this our band will play a song and you can respond in a variety of ways—singing, meditating, reflecting or receiving prayer from a pastor. Followers of Jesus are encouraged to receive communion and those who have not yet trusted in Christ are invited to receive Jesus.

  • We end our gathering sent on mission to the world to live as God’s people in all areas of life. We leave asking God to keep us cheerful in his service, faithful in our partnership, and fruitful for his Kingdom, until King Jesus returns to restore his entire creation.

After the gathering stay behind and chat with friends or grab a chair and help clean up! Since we are church who meets in a school, we pack it in and pack it out every Sunday.

Let us know you’re coming and we will have someone waiting to meet you!
